The photo was taken during a sunrise hike up Stone Mountain Georgia. It happened to rain the day before and where puddles on the top of the mountain reflecting the colors on the sky all around us.Time
It was taken early in the morning of February 23, 2020. It was a very cold and windy morning. When we got to the top we were standing in foggy clouds and the wind blow them away just at the perfect moment to allow us to watch the sun rise.Lighting
I left the lighting to nature capturing the raw colors and nature light of the sun rise.Equipment
I always carry my camera with me on hikes but I had to wake up so early to hike up the mountain in time for sunrise that I forgot it. The photo was taken with my iPhone.Inspiration
When we reached the top of the mountain we are standing in the such thick fog we could barley see 3 feet in front of us. A strong burst of wild came and blow the fog so fast I took the photo in fear that that the fog would come back just as fast as it left.Editing
I typically edit my outdoor photography to get the desired lighting and color wanted, but for this photo I left the colors to nature. In my camera bag
I typically shot with my canon powershot sx530 but for this trip if got left behind.Feedback
Be prepared to wake up early and make sure you pack headlamps. When you want to see sunrise from the top of a mountain that means you are waking up early and hiking up in the dark. It can be tiring but totally worth it.
