Location
The photo was taken in the lovely GeMa photo studio.Time
If the studio has dark enough curtains, then the time of day doesn't impact the outcome. This particular photo was taken a bit after 1 PM.Lighting
The main light was an octobox from the model's left side. To lighten up another side, added additional light from the right.Equipment
Used my Canon 7D with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. Also, two studio lights were used.Inspiration
This photo session was planned to be in B&W. Therefore poses we tried with the model Sintija were chosen accordingly. This one tried to capture from a bit above model to give a look of sensuality and hope.Editing
Some camera/lens and color adjustments were made in Lightroom. Then switched to Photoshop. Applied frequency separation to the model's skin, removed some blemishes. Then a bit of local dodge&burn. Finally, sharpened eyes, jewelry, and nails. Then went back to Lightroom to convert the photo to B&W.In my camera bag
First of all, my 7D body, my Canon EF50mm f/1.8 II lens. For a backup, kit lens EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6. Usually, there is also a place for my Speedlite 580EX flash, some spare accumulators, and CF cards.Feedback
Don't be afraid of experimenting with light location and camera angles. In a studio, it's quite a fixed environment, and you can see where the light falls on the model and make needed changes accordingly.
