Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Seixal bay area, near Lisbon, Portugal. There are lots of remains related to out of buisiness fishing companies from mid XX century.

Time

I´ve tried to capture the end of day but I had to way a few hours to sunset time.

Lighting

Some clouds appeared at the horizon and the light started to dim. My photo became a bit dark...

Equipment

I used a Panasonic Lumix G7 with a 14-140 mm lens and a tripod.

Inspiration

At that time I was starting to get some long exposure photos and this was one of the very first ones. I was looking for a minimalist composition.

Editing

I always use Adobe Lightroom to post-process my photos.I desaturated a bit those blue tones.

In my camera bag

I have my Panasonic Lumix G7 with a 14-140 mm lens and a 42.5 mm lens for portrait and depth of field photos. Also several polarizer and ND filters, as well as a flash light, a backup battery and a bean bag.

Feedback

Well, it takes a lot of patience to shoot long exposure photos. You must evaluate the water movement to choose the shutter speed. I guess you have to shoot a lot with different shutter speeds so you can find what suits you.
