Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the south brim lookout in phoniex arizona

Time

It was around 3pm the dramatic clouds and blue sky made for wonder colours to brighten up the whole picture.

Lighting

Working on getting the shot with good compositon and still getting all of the colours proved to be more of an issue that originally thought. But after carefully considering my surrondings this compositon worked well.

Equipment

Its funny because at the time I took this picture back in August 2019 I still only had my Canon Rebel Xt with a lit lens.

Inspiration

This photo was inspired by the thousands of images already taken at the grand canyon, and trying to be able to take a picture that stood out amongst so many.

Editing

I tried to bring out the layers by increasing contrast, and trying to draw out the warm colours while still keeping the original beauty of the scene.

In my camera bag

Now I always have with me my Canon EOS RP. My nifty fifty, Rokinon 14mm 2.8. Still keep my 18-55mm around, a 300mm lens, tripod and a few N/D filters.

Feedback

Try to go on a day with some clouds. It also for the colours to come out in the sky more and more importantly in the rock. But as an amateur photographer I just love the opportunity to learn and become more experienced. And I really appreciate all the opportunities viewbug has given me. As a 17 year old without such a fantastic company to be able to showcase my work I would not be where I am today.
