Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in Mystic CT. at the Mystic Aquarium.

Time

This was taken in the early afternoon. The aquarium tends to be a crowded place. As I walked by viewing the exhibits the deep blue caught my eyes.

Lighting

The lighting in the aquarium is generally dark and the tanks are lit up. With the motion of the fish and reduced lighting and no tripod it make for a challenge to get clear shots.

Equipment

My camera was a Cannon 70d with a Cannon 18-75 t lens at 18mm. This is a handheld shot with no flash shot at ISO 1600 1/15 sec f stop of 5.0

Inspiration

The Mystic Aquarium is a very busy place with so much to see. As I walked by the jellyfish display the contrast of the white jellies and deep blueness caught my eyes. I really just love to watch the swim around so gracefully and used my camera to some how capture their beauty.

Editing

I used Photoshop to bump up the contrast and give the picture some saturation removed some highlights and added shadow.

In my camera bag

I have 2 basic lenses a Cannon 18-75 and Tamron 18-400. I also carry a couple of macro rings memory cards and batteries I will use circular polarizing filters also depending on what I am trying to photograph.

Feedback

Just have fun taking pictures and enjoy the beauty that is all around you.
