Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my home studio.

Time

I took it early in the morning with some morning sun coming through the window.

Lighting

I wanted to focus on the inside components of the flower, as if I was sitting on the front petal looking at it up close. I wanted a very narrow DOF with edges of the petals falling off the focus

Equipment

Nikon 610 with a 105mm macro lens. Tripod Remote trigger and a single LED light to complement the natural light.

Inspiration

I love macro photography and many variations of artistic presentations of flower photography is a lot of fun

Editing

Yes. General adjustments in LR followed by PS to clean up a few dirt spots on the inside of the flower. Few final adjustments in Topaz

In my camera bag

I have two camera bodies Nikon 610 and Fuji T2. I generally, keep the Nikon at home for macro shooting and Fuji for travel photography. Fuji lenses include 100-400, 54, 24-70, 85mm 1.4, 18-55mm I also have 28-300, 70-200mm, and 150-600mm Nikkon lenses in addition to 105 macro in my bag.

Feedback

It's all about lighting and composition with a great deal of attention to detail when shooting flower photography. Keep practicing and posting so that you can learn from their feedback.
