It's the colander, of course, which is different -- it can't be eaten. ;) Or maybe it's the peach, which is the only item considered really sweet, although not the only fruit in the photo. Maybe it's the eggplant, in the upper right corner, such a dark purple it's almost black, where all the other things are bright and colorful. It could be the corn, the only thing to have layers of husks and silks protecting it as it grows. Or maybe it is the pretzels, which I bet is what you were thinking to begin with.
Is there a lesson here about assumptions, about differences, about what does or does not belong? Maybe. Or maybe it's just a still life with an overturned colander of tomatoes, snap peas, a cucumber, peppers, pickles, a peach, pretzels, and corn. Oh, and that eggplant. Poor eggplant, banished to the back for not being colorful. There's got to be a lesson there.
