REFLECTION SERIES ~ Experimental work
This is one of my original gouache paintings, "Still Standing", that has been digitally manipulated. The foreground water and reflections were added to the painting using many tools in Photoshop and several other image editing programs. Then the image was reduced to Black and white.

This image began in my studio as a highly detailed gouache painting. It was photographed and digitally manipulated with the addition of a water reflection. I used three different image editors to achieve the look I wanted. When I was satisfied, I reduced the image to black and white using the sliders in Photoshop CC.Time
The time of day did not matter as I used studio lighting.Lighting
The lighting was carefully adjusted in Photoshop to give an air of mystery and drama.Equipment
I use a Nikon D5300 with a 70mm lens.Inspiration
I really enjoy multimedia art, combining my fine art painting with photography techniques. The borders have blurred and I believe that it is the final image and the mood it conveys is what counts. I label myself as Frank Wilson ~your "Image Maker".Editing
I used PhotoScape, Photoshop CC and Neural filters to achieve this unusual look.In my camera bag
Nikon D5300 with three Nikon lenses, 10 to 20 MM wide angle, an 18 to 55 mm, (my most used lens) and a 70 to 300 telephoto. Polarizer filters, stackable close up lens, flash units and I always have a tripod strapped to my camera backpack.Feedback
Experiment, experiment experiment! In the days of film and paper the cost of experimenting could really add up. Now in the digital age the only cost to experiment is your time. Enjoy and have fun!
