Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken in the late afternoon at one of the Lily ponds in Brookgreen Garden.

Time

This was taken in the late afternoon.

Lighting

The late afternoon lighting was stunning which resulted in a warm vibrant shot.

Equipment

I use a Canon EOS 80D with my EF-S-55-250mm lens.

Inspiration

This setting is amazing as there is a large Lily pond surrounding a large outdoor granite statue of Pegasus. It was taken in the afternoon with great natural sunlight. I was experimenting with the 55 - 250 mm telephoto lens for close-up work with shallow depth of field. I really liked the Lily in focus in the foreground and out of focus in the background.

Editing

I keep post-processing to a minimum. This involved cropping the original as well as removing some lens spots. There was also minimal noise reduction.

In my camera bag

I have several spare batteries, memory cards, and several additional lens.
