I walked around St. Petersburg. I often do this because adore this city and its mystical magnetism. You can find something new in it every day.
The photo shows the winter embankments of the Fontanka River and the first multi-storey store in Russia - the Esders & Scheifals Trading House (1908). The building is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List “Historical Center of St. Petersburg”.
The light in the tower with a spire in the form of a caduceus (rod of Mercury, the god of trade) is gradually changing to the entire rainbow spectrum. It is very beautiful, especially in a combination with reflections of street lighting.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in St. Petersburg. I often walk around because adore this city and its mystical magnetism.

Time

The photo was taken in the evening, at about 20:00

Lighting

I wanted to make the light as natural as possible, but it was not easy, because there was no tripod. Before I got this shot, a lot of duplicates were taken.

Equipment

Only Canon 6D with an 27-300mm f/3.5-5.6 lens.

Inspiration

I was inspired by the extraordinary force of attraction of light from the roof, which in such an incredible way contrasted with the sky.

Editing

Usually, I align all photos (reaching all lines are horizontal and vertical), add a little more color (so that the photo looks natural), and slightly wipe the noise (if any). This photo was no exception: alignment, colorfulness, noise.

In my camera bag

For the last two years ONLY Canon 6D with a 27-300mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Nothing more

Feedback

Just shoot everything that seems beautiful to you. Your delight will certainly be visible in the photo
