Thanks. I was amazed when I first saw a bird like this (Cape glossy starling)!

Behind The Lens

Location

At the lookout in Olifants rest camp in Kruger National Park, South Africa.

Time

This was pretty much midday. It was very bright and this even brigher bird caught our eye.

Lighting

It was a very bright, sunny day. I loved the way this bird looked in the bright light.

Equipment

I just used a Sony dsc-h300.

Inspiration

We we're looking at hippo's and elephants and some smaller animals in the distance when we noticed this bird just behind us, just waiting for us to take it's picture. I took a lot of pictures of this bird (it seemed to love posing for the camera) and of some of it's friends.

Editing

Not a lot of post-processing here. Mostly cropping and vignetting.

In my camera bag

Usually I bring this camera (the sony dsc-h300), but sometimes I prefer an older one that is a little lighter. When we go for hikes or longer trips I also like to bring a small tripod (gorillapod). For quick snapshots I always carry a smartphone with a somewhat decent camera.

Feedback

No technical advice, but I would say: keep an eye out for the little surprises where you don't expect them.
