Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken in my apartment in Philippines. I'm a hobbyist and exploring the diverse world of photography.

Time

The golden hour, before the sun rises is one of the best time I took this shot. It adds up drama and creamy effect to the image.

Lighting

I want the viewers to feel the photo itself and they can reflect to it. The window is one of the artistic way to shot with a portrait subject. This was the only light source for this shot but it's enough to achieve this solititary shot.

Equipment

This was shot on a Sony A6300, with my 30mm F/1.4 lens. I manage to shot this on handheld.

Inspiration

I loved taking photos of a subject with reflection. It leads to amazing effects and wonderful images.

Editing

I used lightroom mobile to edit this photo. Just a minimal edit in the colors because the output from the raw shot is already great.

In my camera bag

"Less is more" - Ludwig Miles van der Rohe. It's not always "the more, the merrier". When it comes to my photography equipment, I always have what I just needed depending on the situation or place of the shoot. Usually, my Nikon D7200 and Sony A6300 for extra camera, the batteries and the extras of course, a tripod, a foldable reflector+diffuser, flash, light stand and my foldable 90cm softbox.

Feedback

Keep shooting and trying different styles and techniques in photography. In this shot I let my subject to be relaxed and to feel the mood so that the output will be natural. Be inspired with what you do and never quit.
