The 18-hour journey from New York had left me charged. The tallest peaks were now layered with snow, lush rain forests had now been infiltrated by stark branches and the salmon also swam eagerly in the water beneath looking for a new home to lay their eggs. I found myself in Haines, Alaska to capture the coveted American Eagle pictures. I wanted people to be able to buy original art on my website, and the endearing eagle art would also be a stunning addition to my growing collection. The rugged peaks loomed above the vast landscape, adding in it, its own shade of ivory. The bare trees were dotted with bald eagles, who seemed to visually scour the water beneath for their meal.
