Mid-afternoonLighting
My main goal with the lighting was to capture the way the sun was shining through the trees onto the snow. The trees add a contrast against that and give shadows that would not have been seen otherwise.Equipment
I simply used my phone cameraInspiration
I had gone ahead, was waiting for my group, and was looking around saying golly. This is breathtaking. So, naturally, as a photographer, I felt like I should try to capture it, and it worked out well!Editing
I adjusted the photo a bit with simple editing, but what you see is close to what the original looks like.In my camera bag
I normally have my Canon Rebel T6 and my two lenses: - EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 III - EFS 18-55mm Macro 0.25m/0.8ftFeedback
Take multiple shots. Review them, and if they are not what you want, take the time to get more shots. You have to look around and see through your photographers eye. If you are not in tune with things around you, and in the spirit of awe and/or gratitude, you will not have the same results. Be patient. Good shots take time.
