When I lived on Arran if I couldn't sleep I would watch the sunrise from sitting room window but thought I would be able to get some good photos, so wrapped up took drink with me and took the short walk to the pier.
Loved it so early, light was exquisite, herons and they're young fishing and flying past(you can see one in the photograph), oyster-catchers by the shore and even a few seals bobbing they're heads up now and again.
Crabs and fish swimming amongst the seaweed
Village would start to slowly come alive, buses would pass, dogs being walked before work. Could smell the bacon from an open window of house!
It's just so beautiful and miss the place but will be back for a holiday. I highly recommend the Isle Of Arran (Scotland in miniature)
