Location
The photo was taken of Victoria Bridge from the southern bank of the Brisbane River, South Brisbane, Australia.Time
I was about to head off for work when I noticed early morning fog as the sun was rising, it was approx 6am on a winter's morning. I quickly grabbed my camera headed straight to the river hoping to capture some nice black and white photos, this one of the Victoria Bridge is one of my favourites. Oh and I was late for work. ;)Lighting
I find lighting under foggy conditions to be pretty flat although more even. Conditions are closer to night photography so shadow can play an interesting role in your photos.Equipment
Was taken with one of my old Canon 40Ds with a Sigma 10-20mm mounted on a tripod at 1/6sec.Inspiration
The river is an strange place on a foggy morning, light and colours is different, sounds are different - things were dead calm. I really liked this capture as one the other side of the bridge is Brisbane City almost completely hidden in fog. The river was calm and this added to the reflective nature of the photos.Editing
Very little, converted to black and white, a little dodge and burning in Photoshop. In my camera bag
Good backpack, single dSLR, travel tripod, 2 lens (wide-angle 17-40mm + versatile ranged telephoto 70-200mm), iPhone, ND filter, spare batteries, water bottle and heaps of exciting shacks. :)Feedback
Always be ready (equipment packed and charged) to go at the drop of a hat, it I had mucked around for 20 minutes getting ready I would have missed this photo altogether.
