Location
The title of this photo is: Second spring "Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." (Albert Camus) it is part of a series. This photo was made in autumn, hence the fallen leaf, and photographed in my home studio.Time
It was in the beginning of the afternoon, photographed with natural light.On that time of day the sun was not directly falling through the window anymore so it created a softer light.Lighting
For close-ups and macro in my home studio i use Lumecube lights, although this one was done with natural light.Equipment
Sony A99m2 with a Minolta AF 100mm f/2.8 macro. The leaf was hold by a pair of tweasers and the light was natural light falling through window at the font of the leaf. The sunlight on that moment was softend by white curtains.Inspiration
I doing a series which is called "Fading Nature.This series is about the transience of natural elements such as plants, leaves and mushrooms who have arrived at the end of their life cycle. The photographed elements decay and fall into pieces.Editing
The red/blueish color was already in the original photo. In CameraRaw i added some texture on the leaf and in Photoshop i cropped the tweaser out, blurred the background with a mask and changed the luminosity level and added some vibrance..In my camera bag
My main camera is a Sony A99m2(with a A99 as backup, when needed.) Lenses are a Sigma 12-24mm II, Sony Zeiss 24-70mm f2.8, Sony Zeiss 85mm f/1.4, Sony 70-200mm f/2.8G with Sony 2x converter. Mostly accompanied with a Minolta AF 20mm f/2.8 and a Minolta AF 100mm f/2.8 macro. I also have a selection Lensbaby lenses en optics as well as about 30 vintage lenses which i frequently like to use. these i use mostly on a Fuji X-pro2.Feedback
Always look for the little things, like this leaf. There are millions of them out there and they are all different. They are literally at your feet.
