Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the Simon Bolivar park in the city of Bogota, in the dark forests that that park has

Time

We took it with some friends at about 4 in the afternoon, while we practiced lighting with a speedlight with a different place than

Lighting

As I said, we took it with a speedlight, in a practice that we did. In this case we mounted the light on a tripod and with a modifier, then with the help of a friend we put the light so that it bathed the model from above

Equipment

I used my Canon 80D for this shot, with the 18-135mm lens that came with the camera

Inspiration

We want to take different photos, which had some kind of impact. In this case, I had seen several similar Urban photos, where the background is dark, but in this case I wanted the floor to be seen as well, and the pose of the model to be striking and somber. I think we made it

Editing

Yes, apart from the normal development in Lightroom, I also made some exposure modifications in photoshop, especially to strengthen the shadows and the skin of the model, as well as to eliminate certain white points that were left in the background

In my camera bag

Usually when I go to take landscape shots I use my Canon 80D camera and use lenses like the Canon 10-17 f / 3.5mm or the Tamron 17-50 f / 2.8. But when I work portraits I prefer my Canon 6d Mark ii and lenses like the Canon 50 f / 1.8 or the Canon 24-105mm f / 4 L. They are my favorites. Now I have been carrying a Canon m50, which being lighter has sold me well to take street photos and do something new, also it is not as heavy as the other 2

Feedback

Go out to look for very different places, know the limits of your city, make different plans, look for inspiration in nature, go exploring with great caution but curiosity, take advantage of ideas from your friends, have a community, look at photos from different sources and variants, no you limit yourself
