Despite being one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen, this place has a funny history. It used to be called “The Bay of Penis’”. Seriously. When missionaries first landed at this otherworldly island, they agreed it was weird and decided to change the name of the bay to something a little more PG. They settled on “Bay of Vigins”, or Hanavave. My wife and I were both breathless when we first laid eyes on this place.
