Location
This photo was taken in my studio “Studio Lenzsation, Kolkata”.Time
It’s one of my favourite shot from one of my fashion and portrait photography workshop. I remember taking this last shot after I finished mentoring others. It was around 7 in the evening.Lighting
I wanted a crisp and glowing effect in this photo and wanted the reflection to be prominently visible on the model’s eyewear. Hence, used a beauty dish on a boom stand from top and a softbox from the right hand side of the subject. The left side was illuminated by a reflector.Equipment
Well, as far as the lighting equipment is concerned, I used a beauty dish, a softbox mounted on an Elimchrom Master 400 studio strobes. A reflector to remove any unwanted pockets and shadows. The shot was taken with my Nikon D7200 and the lens I used was a Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2.Inspiration
Well, shooting this model has an interesting bit of it. She is actually a photographer who wanted me to shoot few portraits of her. I casually said, “If you go bald, I will shoot you”!! The next day, she was in front of me, head shaved. Nothing can be more inspiring than this love for photography. I arranged the shoot immediately and there you have her.Editing
This being a fashion portrait, I did concentrate on just a bit of skin smoothing and retouching in photoshop. No component were added or removed. In my camera bag
I am a physically challenged photographer. Hence, I always love to go light. My camera bag will always have my Nikon D7200, 2 Batteries, a 50mm 1.4, a 18-140mm and my favourite Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2.Feedback
Fashion photography is a genre where communication plays a vital role. It’s very important that the synergy between the model and the photographer reaches its optimal. Secondly, never ever fear to experiment. Always remember, wonders happen, and are not created.
