The road led through the densest fog, curve after curve further up through the fog cover. Passing chamois grazing at the roadside until the sun became visible.
Although it was early afternoon, the winter sun was already very low in the sky. I had to hurry, but before I got there, the sun disappeared behind the treetops.
Already from afar I had seen a matt shine that had magically attracted me. Arrived there, I recognized that it was a half-frozen pond. And while I waited for the color in the sky, I could observe how the pond continued to freeze over.
