Location
The photo was taken in Shiraz, Iran, in September, 2019. I was visiting the country and made there the final project for my photography course.Time
The photo was taken on September, 5th, at 12:45. I had just arrived the night before to Iran and this was the second photo I made there. It's still one of my favorites, the woman passing by unaware I was capturing the moment forever.Lighting
I love the game of light and shadows present in this photo. It highlights the subject as if it was a light spot, leaving the rest of the photo in shadows. I didn't prepare the framing or composed the photo before, I just saw an captured the moment!Equipment
I used my Canon EOS 5D Mark III and my lens Canon EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM.Inspiration
I've always wanted to visit Iran. The country itself is inspiring for any street photographer like me. I was inspired and excited the whole time I've been there and made some great photos, in my opinion.Editing
I just cropped the photo and edited it in black in white, using Lightroom. In my camera bag
I travel with my Canon EOS 5D Mark III and a Leica V Lux-1. My favorite two lenses are the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8, and Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8, and I also bring my Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 in my camera bag, as it’s light and great for some night walks with no extra weight. Besides that, I always bring a light tripod and a remote shutter.Feedback
Any photographer has to be a good observer. In Iran, as in any other place, if you are a street photographer you have to always be aware of the places and people around you, and be patient, but fast to capture the moment. So chose a framework, a place, a scenery, compose your photo and then hope for the subject to approach and make your photo. Otherwise, the best photos are often taken in a blink, without these preparations. So, observe, be aware, and a good shot will come eventually
