Need a rest from walking? For a small fee, you could always take a ride in a Swan Boat on the lake in the park at the Boston Public Gardens. They have been in service since 1877 and go by the names of Romeo and Juliet! The pond is maintained for safety and cleanliness by being drained and thoroughly cleaned every year since it is only 3 feet deep and can be overtaken by bacteria and "slime" all too easily. The boats are pedaled around the pond by a guide and you often see tourists on the bridge that spans over the lake waving to you as you pass beneath the bridge on your tour. Something not to be missed, for sure!
