Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my parents house in my old bedroom.

Time

I took this in the late afternoon.

Lighting

I used three studio lights and a silver reflector for this image.

Equipment

Canon Rebel T6 with an 85mm cannon lens. I used a tripod a d white backdrop as well.

Inspiration

I saw these flowers at the grocery store and thought to myself, “I want to put these in my hair, that might be a nice photo”. When I got home I did my hair and makeup and put the flowers in my hair, very, very carefully. Then I realized....I didn’t get dressed first. Everything that matched would ruin my hair if I were to put it on. So instead I grabbed my bed sheet, wrapped it around myself, and got to shooting.

Editing

I used Lightroom and photoshop to edit this photo. I edit the colors and lighting in Lightroom. Then edit the blacks and whites, as well as sharpen, brighten, blurr, heal, and straighten the image.

In my camera bag

I always have my Canon, three lenses, multiple SD cards, light reflector, lens wipes, camera charger, SD card adapter, and Buisness cards.

Feedback

Get creative, do what feels natural and remember, be VERY gentle when putting the flowers in your hair! I had to fix mine three times to get it right. I will also add that if you try it yourself, to try it with natural lighting and have the backdrop outside. Tag me on Instagram in the picture so I can share it with the world! To whoever recreates this image, have as much fun as possible, get some good lighting, and let your inner beauty shine!
