Location
I took this photo in my old room at my parents house. I set up my backdrop, put a sheet on the floor, and went to town!Time
This was mid-afternoon when I did this shoot, however, I used my three studio lights to eliminate the shadows from my window.Lighting
Experiment!! Don’t be afraid to try new things! Use colored lights, flash photography, studio lights, natural light; do it all!!! Most of my best photoshoots were created by simply experimenting.Equipment
I use a Canon T6, a tripod (as well as makeshift tripods with pillows), three studio lights, a whit cloth backdrop, and two white sheets. As for my lens, I use a vintage lens which I cannot identify the name of. It was made in the 70’s and is a fixed lens that they don’t even sell anymore!Inspiration
Honestly, I’d love to be able to tell some beautiful story about the meaning and idea of this. However, I was simply just bored. I just wanted to try something creative! I found some flowers and got inspired with a hair and makeup looks, threw a sheet over myself, and went to work!Editing
Yes! I used photoshop and Lightroom to edit this photo and the rest from this set!In my camera bag
I always have my camera, my vintage lens, my Polaroid camera, lens wipes, business cards, multiple SD cards, my iPad and Apple pen, my DJI Osmo Pocket with the extender, chargers, and most importantly snacks.Feedback
Be creative! Use things around your house and see what you can do with it! I simply had an extra sheet and some flowers and used it to make a beautiful set of photos that now is being featured! Experiment with self portraits for it has made me such a better photographer and so much better at directing models. Remember, there’s no need to be upset if a shoot doesn’t go as planned. Every picture you take is more practice. The more you practice and fail, the more you learn. Find art in the ordinary, and always be authentically you!
