Location
My photo was taken at the London Ontario airport during an air show there that day. In the original photo the sky was perfectly blue that day and the two jets blended in with the sky, another great photo but I like to play with my photos so I simply put a different background behind the jets and blended it all together with Photoshop and Topaz labs.Time
The photo, one of my many favorites was taken in the early afternoon on September 14/2019Lighting
When photographing outside on a perfectly cloudless day make sure the sun is at your back.Equipment
I used a Nikon D750 mounted on a manfrotto tripod with a ball head mount and a Sigma 150 to 600 mm lens.Inspiration
I love aircraft and the aerobatics and I try to attend as many airshows that I can. It's the action that inspires me and the challenge. When you have aircraft going past you at between 300 and 600 miles an hour it's very exhilarating, it's all about action for me whether it's planes, cars, boats, or athletic sports.Editing
In the original photo no post processing was needed, I only put a different background in the photo and blended the planes in with the cloudy background using Photoshop and Topaz Labs studio 2.In my camera bag
I use a carry on suit case type of bag for my equipment which allows me to carry two camera bodies and up to 4 lenses ranging from 10mm up to 600mm, flash, batteries, charger, SD cards, plastic garbage bag in case it rains, a grey card and my tripod.Feedback
Most important is patience and knowing how to pan and the only way to get good at anything is practice, practice, practice, and watch and ask how it was done.
