Location
Vasilievo its a small village close to Saint Petersburg, Russia. I found this place some years ago, when I moved to live to Russia, and its famous to be the church in the smallest island in the world (Guiness World Records)Time
It was sunset, I wait there for 3 hours till sunset starts. Here in summers, the sunsets & sunrise its a long period.Lighting
I wait to take a picture of this place for a long time, waiting for the best conditions of light. In winter the photo here can look different and there is no reflection because the river frozen.Equipment
NikonD750 + 14-24 2.8mm lens. I didn't use a tripod, I was in a excursion during all day with my wife and I leave this day the tripod at home. When I saw the conditions for sunset could be great, I decided to stay and use stones as a tripod.Inspiration
Other local photographers. I love this place since first time I saw, even knowing they build this bridge I know the place is unique in the world.Editing
Sure, I edit in Lr & Ps that is my usual process. I use two color temperature, and merge in Photoshop by luminosity masks. Also I make some another adjustments, but basically this is it.In my camera bag
Not so much, my equipment its already heavy. I have a Nikon D750, Nikkor 14-24 2.8, Nikkor 24-70 2.8 and a tripod. I have another equipment, but usually I don't leave home with it to do landscape photography.Feedback
Scout places around your home & wait for a good sunset there. Sometimes a great place it can be so close to your home, and you have more chances to get a perfect light and repeat photos in different days. When you travel, usually you have just one chance to do a photo, so its not so easy.
