Behind The Lens

Location

The photograph was taken in Phuket, Thailand. I am a traveller and love to capture the natural beauty combined with man made creativity. The statue is beautifully made, combined with the location on hill top with ocean view.

Time

The photo was taken in the evening. The Big Buddha Phuket is beautifully located on a hill top which is best to view sunsets with its beatutiful surroundings.

Lighting

I actually wanted to capture the statue image but it was sunset time with the sun just above the statue. While we were strolling around the area enjoying the view I happened to see the statue while the sun was exactly behind the head. This angle perfectly captures the soothing and mysterious aura around Buddha statue like a hint of an illumination.

Equipment

The shot was captured on my mobile phone Pixel 2. Pixel has a great camera with good colour saturation and I use it for all my photographs.

Inspiration

I like to capture different shades of nature. And this beautiful sunset view illuminating the statue is beauty at its best. I was looking to capture the sunset and the Buddha statue in one frame and this angle was a perfect view.

Editing

I never do any post processing on any of my photos except for occasional brightness adjustment using default pixel camera features, no photo editing softwares. This photo is the original shot my pixel phone without and processing.

In my camera bag

I am an amateur photographer and all I have in my kitty is my Pixel which never fails me

Feedback

One can never go wrong while capturing the nature. Nature has so much to offer, all you have to do is look around and capture what strikes you as beautiful. Also its best to first find your focal point in the picture and concentrate on capturing that as the centre point.
