Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Combe hill nature reserve Gloucestershire.

Time

I think the photo was taken about 12.00.

Lighting

A brightish day.

Equipment

Camera EOS 5d iii with 200mm lens set at 200mm. It was hand held & focused using manual.

Inspiration

I was taking photo of two swans in a small pond. I was waiting for them to do something. The dragonfly then came close by & hovered, I put the camera on manual focus & managed to get 3 shots before he flew off.

Editing

The Dragonfly was pretty small on the image so its had quite a crop. It's also had some sharpening.

In my camera bag

Canon EOS 5D iii. 70-200mm f/4.5 L Lens. Extension tubes. Tripod

Feedback

I've tried since to capture dragonflies in flight with little success. I would say it takes good equipment patients & Luck.
