Location
In a wild meadow in Worcestershire. I was looking for a footpath for a nearby nature reserve but everywhere was over grown, the field was full of Meadow Browns & other butterflies so decided to give up on the footpath & stay where I was.Time
It was early evening. I had terrible hayfever at the time & was using a 200mm lens & extension tube. I don't have a tripod so trying to take sharp photos with streaming eyes while having a sneezing fit was a bit of a task.Lighting
Nice early evening bright but not too harsh.Equipment
The camera used was a 2nd hand Canon EOS 5D iii recently bought for me by my wife for an early birthday present. I gave up photography about 8 years ago when slides & film become too expensive. My old lenses thankfully fit my new camera. For this photo I was using an extension tube & my old 70-200 1:4 L USM lens, also bought 2nd hand a number of years ago.Inspiration
The wild meadow was full of life, it's amazing how fields look when left to nature & pesticides are not used.Editing
Some sharpening & cropping. I only use the app that is on my Mac. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to processing. In my camera bag
Canon 5D iii (2nd hand), Canon 70-200mm 1:4 L USM (2nd hand). Canon 20-35mm EF Lens. Canon fixed 50mm lens (2nd hand). Cokin filters.Feedback
Take your hay fever tablets & buy a tripod, I did neither & got away with it. Don't chase after butterflies with your camera it's risky on uneven ground plus you can look a bit silly if spotted. Stay put in good spot & sit quietly the butterflies will usually come back or another one will be along soon, in this case a couple did.
