Location
This photo was taken in a rural area in Manitoba, Canada. The bell belongs to a former one room school house and was brought down and has been placed a few yards away from the building.Time
One mid-afternoon I asked my mom to come along for a drive in the country. She used to live in this area as a child and attended school here. We hadn't seen the schoolhouse in years, so we thought it might be worth checking out.Lighting
I'm very much still learning, and because I knew I wanted this photo to be in black and white, I wasn't concerned with lighting.Equipment
This was shot using my Nikon d3500 with an 18mm - 55mm lens.Inspiration
My family helped bring this bell down when it was decided that the tower might not be able to support the weight of the bell any longer.Editing
I don't do any real post-processing with my photos and very little editing other than cropping. In my camera bag
My bag contains my Nikon d3500 body, the standard 18mm-55mm lens and another couple of lenses, some filters, a camera remote in case it's needed. I'm still very much an amateur and haven't had a chance to build up a real inventory yet.Feedback
This is a pretty basic shot, but if asked to give any sort of advice to anyone else that's just beginning, it would have to be practice. Take your time, have patience and take photos of everything! If you see something that sparks your interest, take the time to stop and photograph it because you might not get the chance to capture it another time.
