My Friend J.J.'s car.

J.J. is the best guy. Sincere, and a die hard lover of the cool rides! His SEMA project for 2020 is something completely different than what he's shown off before. Can't wait!

Behind The Lens

Location

Saskatoon has an annual car show called Driven which my car club is a part of.

Time

This was indoors, taken with just the hall lighting. I believe it was taken around 4pm.

Lighting

The lighting was all overhead and surrounding as part of the car show. Just so happened my friend had his lighting turned on with his NSX

Equipment

I used my trusty Nikon D750 with my wide angle 18-24mm lens. I simply rested the camera body on the floor to achieve the slammed stance of the car I was looking for

Inspiration

This car is aggressive. The best way to show off this vibe is to take an aggressive angle, taken at the classic 2/3 angle.

Editing

I took this image through initial styling in lightroom, and then dodge and burned in Photoshop to really get the highlights and shadows dialed in.

In my camera bag

I always have my nifty fifty prime lens. But my favorite is my 18-24mm wide angle lens. My Nikon D750 camera body, extra batteries, and soft cloths. Remote sensor trigger. Business cards (you never know when you're going to meet a new contact).

Feedback

Always look for the mood of what you're shooting. Landscape, person, car, etc. Find out which angle and lighting feeds into what you want to convey with the final images. Try to use the typical "rules of composition", as a start! But don't be afraid to play with angles to achieve something that sets you apart from the rest
