Location
This photo was taken in the Okavango delta, in the heart of a 100,000-hectare private concession, in the north-eastern part of the Okavango Delta panhandle.Time
It was 10 o'clock in the morning, not an optimal hour for the photos but the tall illuminated grass allowed me to obtain a sharp contrast with the color of the three great lionsLighting
there are few shadows on the two frontal lions but the contrast is still optimal thanks to the strong lighting of the grass.Equipment
For this shot I used my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera with EF100-400mm f / 4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens.Inspiration
The expressions and curiosity of two of the lions were very interesting. The third, on the other hand, has turned his back on me and this shows the character of the three lions and there social rankEditing
I worked the photo with Lightroom simply by increasing the contrast and the dark colors of the lions using the brushIn my camera bag
I always have my Canon 5d IV with me and I use a Tamron 28-300 lens when I can't change the lens, a 16-28mm with f / 2.8 for landscapes and photos at night, or a Samyang 14mm fish-eye for night shots, a 100-400 zoom with 2x extension, when I need to photograph far away. I also use UV filters or degrading filters when necessaryFeedback
My advice is to keep the image as faithful as possible to reality without using filters that can alter its value and natural beauty. I often see an improper use of filters that change wonderful landscapes, making them not real. Another suggestion is to open the diaphragm as much as possible and work on shutter speeds to favor depth of field.
