Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on the last night of my holiday in Jersey in the Channel Islands on a beautiful summer's evening.

Time

It was about 9.30pm just as the sun was setting.

Lighting

Light was beautiful as it was at the start of Golden Hour

Equipment

I used a Canon 5D MK 4 with 24-105mm lens. Handheld

Inspiration

In truth it was my wife who insisted we stop and walk out to the lighthouse as the tide was out and she wanted to watch the sunset. Reluctantly I agreed as I was fatigued from 2 weeks of shooting early morning before and after sunrise and again at sunset.

Editing

Only minimal adjustment in Lightroom

In my camera bag

Canon 5d MK4 16-35mm 24-105mm and 100-400mm Canon L Series Lenses. Manfrotto Carbon Fibre tripod and Benro Gimble.

Feedback

Take your time. Pick your spot study compositions and shoot only when satisfied with what you see in the viewfinder. Be patient and wait for the magical moment to come.
