Behind The Lens

Location

Taken in a field where sheep graze. Grassland at about 800 feet in mid Wales.

Time

Early afternoon

Lighting

Natural daylight seems to work for this sort of shot!

Equipment

Canon camera - very basic 1100D - with Canon 300 mm zoom so shallow depth of field...

Inspiration

The fruiting bodies of fungi are really the "tip of the iceberg..." The mycelia spread great distances underground and the above ground appearance of "fairy rings' gives them a certain magic.

Editing

There seemed to be no need to edit the image: I was happy with it.

In my camera bag

Canon 1100D and 100D. I'd love a full frame camera to capture more detail... Regular Canon zoom lenses.

Feedback

A groundsheet is handy for lying down in damp grassland.
