Behind The Lens

Location

The Muskeg River near where Muskeg falls are in Alberta, Canada

Time

just a little after noon, mid summer.

Lighting

being near cool water on a hot day added some haze to the distance

Equipment

Taken with my 5D Mark IV with a 24-105 f/4 lens at F8 on a tripod with a longer exposure and a 10 stop filter.

Inspiration

I had been there the day before but I felt like I had forgotten something there so I went back, when I got there I noticed a pool and this angle on the valley.

Editing

Focus stacking in three levels and black and white conversion.

In my camera bag

17-40, 24-105 and a 70-200, those are my main landscape lenses. a tripod and a filter kit, your filter kit should have a 5 and 10 stop ND as well as a polarizer. Brands do not matter but pick a quality one or you end up with the dreaded X.

Feedback

Learn when to use color and when to use black and white. Also always remember the trio of filters, Polarizer, 5 stop and 10 stop ND. Those are the most versatile.
