Location
I took photo in my backyard, I pretty much shoot most of the bird in here.Time
I remember this, I was about 3:30 PM, It a very hot day, just came back filling the water pots and the babbler landed straight into pot to cool. This image taken on 14th May 2017 3:34 PMLighting
It's natural light, the good thing was the tree behind the bird diffused the light making it perfect.Equipment
This shot was taken using a Canon 700D (Rebel t5i) with a 700-200mm F4. No another equipment was used.Inspiration
It has a very hot and dry day, I just finished filling up the water pots for the bird. The moment I got away from the pot the babbler landed straight in the water. I rushed to fetch camera. I seemed like it just waiting for me to fill up the pot. The most striking thing was, once it found water it started chirping loud to alert other bird, a way of calling that why the beak is wide open. Its a great example of helping.Editing
I usually do basic post processing in Adobe Lightroom like correcting white balance and adjusting curves. For this image I up the white balance give a warmth look and made a S curve to adding a bit of contrast. In my camera bag
I the first things I pack is Canon 70-200 f4, its my go to lens for most scenarios. Canon 24mm Pancake is another lens I always have, it gives ability to go wide. For body I have Canon 700D, it is an entry level body still does a pretty decent job.Feedback
Bird photography is all about anticipation, the perfect composition is there for very short amount of time. Learning the behavior of bird helps in this. Always use AF-Servo and a fast shutter speed.
