Arriving at Sidi Bou Saïd, take the main street that leads to the center. The Café des Nattes is one of the emblematic places of Sidi Bou Said, which one can’t miss anyway because of its position in the center of the city. ????????????????
The reputation of the Café des Nattes comes from the early twentieth century, when students and artists populated its terrace: some big names have made its reputation: Simone de Beauvoir, Andre Gide, Paul Klee and George Bernanos to name just a few examples. ❤️
The Moorish style, with its high steps, its white walls sliced blue woodwork, in line with the rest of Sidi Bou Said, makes it a particularly pleasant place, but the coffee is literally stormed during the day, some doing even the queue while waiting to find a place. Because it is in the heart of Sidi Bou Said that we realize the tourist success of this station: from the Souk, the main street is crowded with people and displays of products "artisanal" souvenirs one after the other. ????❤️
If the influx is at its peak during the day, Sidi Bou Said, with few hotels, remains calm early in the morning then empties in the late afternoon, for those who don’t appreciate the crowds, or want to enjoy the exceptional brightness that reigns ????????????????❤️????☕????
