Great Egret Standing on a Tree Branch

20190819 – Great Egret Perched on a Branch
Horicon Marsh, Dodge County, WI

The day did not go as planned and my 8:00 AM arrival became a noon arrival at the Marsh. In hindsight, I probably should have stayed home, or gone someplace closer, as most of the birds were tucked away and hiding. Having said that, I saw Egrets, Blue Heron, Double-Crested Cormorant, Red-winged Black Birds, American White Pelican, Swallow, Sparrow, Ducks (mostly Wood Ducks), Gulls, Goldfinch, Frogs, Monarchs, Swallowtail, and several insects. I probably missed something, but I am unable to think of it now.
