Each year I am enjoying those Autumn Anamomes in our garden. This one is captured in the early morning when the sun just peeped through the leaves of the bushes which is causing the bokeh.
One of the bushes is a red Japanese maple.
This photo is captured with a macro lens with a wide open aperture.

Behind The Lens

Location
This photo is taken in my back garden. Although we live just outside the city center, our garden is an invitation to birds and insects. Also other animals sometimes come to visit the garden, like squirrels, hedgehogs, frogs, salamanders and sometimes fox and stone marten.
Time
On an early morning in the autumn, just after sunrise.
Lighting
The sun has just rised and was shining through the leaves of different bushes. I was shooting towards the sun with a big aparture to get the nice bokeh. The red part in the bokeh at the upper left is caused by the red leaves of a Japanese Maple.
Equipment
This was shot with a Sony A99 fullframe camera with a Tamron 90mm macro lens on a tripod.
Inspiration
I like taking photo's of flowers in our garden, and I like take photo's towards the sun. The colorfull bokeh adds some atmosphere to this flower photo.
Editing
I just do the normal post processing, like control the highlights and the dark parts. Add a bith of clarity if needed. And in this case increased the saturation a bit.
In my camera bag
What I take with me in my bag depends what my goal for the shoot is. My camera is a full frame, but I can choose between different lenses. I don'want it to be too heavy, so I choose for a max. of two lenses for a shoot. I nearly always take my tripod with me, especially when I gor for macro photography.
Feedback
Try to shoot flowers with the sun in the background. Be sure the sun is not directly shining into the lens, but hidden behind leaves or something. Shoot with a wide aparture, like f2.8, to het a nice soft bokeh.
