We bought some big plant pots to decorate the garden. Before filling it up with potting soil and plants we wanted to make a photo with both our pugs in a pot. Unfortunately that did not work out. Kenny was too restless, but Sam was comfertable enough to stay in the pot. Used a leaf of a water lily from the pond and put it on Sam's head. I am very happy with the result. I hope you like it too.

Behind The Lens

This photo is taken in our back garden, while busy to fill up this flowerpot.
This photo was taken on a summer evening with the sun just set from the garden.
Just the available natural light is used.
Shot from the hand with a Sony camera.
While busy filling up this big flowerpot with sand, my wife came with the idea to put our pug Sam in the pot and take a photo. Great idea, but I was looking for something more. What could we add to make it a more interesting image. Soon I remember the plump leaves I had just removed from the pond. I picked one and put it on the head of Sam. I just stayed long enough the make this photo.
The photo is shot in raw format and only the normal post processing is done, like white balance, contrast, harmonize the dark en light parts...
In my camera bag
Small backpack with full frame camera and one or two lences based on the subjects I want to shoot. I could be a 24-70mm, a 90mm macro or a 70-300m lens. Most of the times I carry my tripot with me.
If an idea pops-up just give it a try directly. Use the stuff, people or animals which are available at that time. It could be the only moment in time you have this opportunity.
