Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my bedroom at home in Surrey British Columbia Canada.

Time

I remember it was taken in the middle of the night. I had been having a tough time with my oldest daughter and wasn't sleeping much. Teenagers do that to you. I was just messing around cause the blonde was new for me. The day bfore that I had dyed so I was checking it out by taking selfies. This picture was shot at 3:54am.

Lighting

Iv always hated the lighting in my room... It looks very yellow to me. But with the blonde it worked quite well. I suppose its because the light and my hair were the same color!

Equipment

I used my phone for this shot as I do most of my shots! This was taken on my samsung galaxy s9. I really loved that phone!

Inspiration

For this shot I suppose it was the change of hair color. The change was welcomed after so many years as a redhead!

Editing

Yes I applied a filter as well as softened the skin. Lowered the contrast and brightened it up. Then finally I added the sparkles.

In my camera bag

I only ever use my phone to capture images. Someone once tild me that there are 2 kinds of photographers. Mobile photographers and body camera photographers. If that's true I'm definitely the former! Iv tried using body camras but I find its WAY more complicated than I like! With my phone I just point, shoot, and come in after and edit or apply a filter.

Feedback

My only advice for anyone trying to capture an image of anything is LIVE IN THE MOMENT! I find the best shots are taken when people just go with the flow. Otherwise I think the images can come out looking forced. But that's only my opinion. Just do what you love! And do it often!!
