Behind The Lens

Location

I live in SW FL. A nearby city called Cape Coral has a large population of burrowing owls. I drove up and down the streets looking for places they perch and I found this bird.

Time

I took this about 10am

Lighting

Natural light, sun still rising in the East, bird was facing South East so the lighting was perfect

Equipment

Sony A7R4, Sony 200-600 @600mm, handled

Inspiration

I love bird photography and these owls are somewhat approachable. I love the look of their eyes so they are a perfect subject to photograph

Editing

Very little post work.. I think I just adjusted highlights and contrast. And I straightened and cropped just a little too center bird better.

In my camera bag

I always carry two cameras, Sony a7r4 and Sony a7r3. I also always bring a large variety of lenses with me, but usually choose one or two to carry on the trails. Always a long telephoto, sometimes a wide angle.

Feedback

Bird photography is not easy so you need to be patient. Always keep trying to get a better photograph, and continue to take pictures. The more experienced you get the better your photograph. And don't over edit!
