Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photograph at the Graceland Cemetery in Chicago, IL.

Time

I was visiting the cemetery while visiting Chicago for a friends wedding. It was at 11:40 am when I came across this gate and just loved it.

Lighting

I was lucky in the the light was hitting the gate. I loved the color and the design and having the sun hit it directly really helped to show it.

Equipment

For this photograph I used my IPhone.

Inspiration

I love cemeteries. My nana used to take me to them and we would walk around them. I love the details you can find in cemeteries whether on the tombstone, the mausoleum, or gates.

Editing

For this photograph I did a bit of cropping and adjusting the levels of the photograph.

In my camera bag

In my camera bag I have my Nikon D7000, three lenses, extra battery, and extra SD cards.

Feedback

Cemeteries are such an interesting place to practice. Unless it is very popular, you will most likely be alone. You can wander around, find some interesting graves or flowers. The older the cemetery the more interesting things you can find.
