Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in the Royal Arcade in Melbourne, Australia. The arcade is the first arcade ever built and the longest standing in Australia. In the distance, the most striking feature of the arcade is the Gautac Clock flanked either side by two giant statues of the mythical figures of Gog and Magog. These figures strike the chimes every hours.Time
This one of favourite images because it was taken in the middle of the day during the lunch break of the city workers.Lighting
Lighting was a combination of overhead daylight through the opaque glass roof as well as incandescent lamps above the boutique stores.Equipment
This was hot with a Nikon d750 with a Nikon 24-20mm f4 lensInspiration
This arcade has lot of old world charms which has been preserved over the years and is very popular with visitors and locals.Editing
I did a little post-processing to balance out the exposure and small amount of micro-contrast adjustment and the converted to Black and White with Nik software Silver Efex.In my camera bag
Nikon d750, 24-120mm f4 and Nikon 50mm f1.8G.Feedback
agin, it depends what type of shot you want to achieve if it is an architectural shot then plan to be there before the crowds arrive. If you want to capture a street type photo then pick as few times of the day when there are different groups people.
