You can see why the Hartland Peninsula is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Hartlands coastline boasts some impressive looking rock formations; The layers of sedimentary rock exposed in the cliffs uncover hundreds of millions of years of natural history, which attract geologists from all over the world.

I've had my eye on this composition for a night shot for a while now and have waited out for the right conditions to pull it off.

I envision using the path as a leading line to St Catherine's Tor, then the jagged edge of the tor leading up to the galactic centre. It actually worked out better than I thought, and the splash of vibrancy provided by the orange coastal flowers was an unexpected bonus, which I just had to fit in the frame.

This image was a bit of a race against time as I the cloud hanging around the horizon soon swept in to smother the night sky.
Overall happy with the result.
