This image is from a model shoot placed into a back plate image of a tube station .Time
A full day shoot indoors so time wasn't relevant but sometimes if there is plenty of daylight bouncing in i would just use the natural light available.Lighting
I loved the coat and the style to the shot it bought , i also love to use sunglasses depending on theme etc , the style oozes cool to me and to incorporate the clean tunnel effect to give an overall higher key look. A small amount of colour , pink and blue against the white walls picks up the eyeline.Equipment

I enjoy composition , i do some unit stills and always try to tell a story , the jacket or coat was the inspiration to get this look, incorporate it into a place i wish i could have shot on location with.Editing
Yes it is an illusion , adding the girl into a plate of a tube station , adjusting the lighting and added shadows and reflections to suit , sunglasses add to this vogue style of the overall look , I usually colour grade , fix flaws and may do a few different versions of a particular shot.In my camera bag
My bag is growing all the time . My camera gear is Nikon. D4, D850. Z6 Lenses Nikon , my go to is 24-70 2.8 , 70-200 2.8 . 105.1.8. I sometimes use a 15mm sigma and 300.2.8 the rest depends on what im needing. Also use light wands and lume cubes to a torch, I almost never use flashes . Pocket wizards if i need to trigger a different camera , on the road i would take mac powerbook and hard drives to download work , plus all the other little things required .Feedback
Most people on certain images of mine dont know whether its real or not , Which is the aim of course, hence my title of a photo illusionist ! Many years of just enjoying creating different styles in photoshop and also i do many natural events and places , always look back and up and see it differently . I dont like the word cut or paste , i blend images together . More examples maybe found on my website richardbartlett.com I do unit stills so its important to be able to shoot in the available light , set up or natural , especially low light and higher iso, dont be scared to experiment with this . I still find great information on you tube and little hints come from other photographers , above all make it a passion and enjoy the ride.
