FollowThere were more than 25 frogs in this little pond. I suspect that number will be greatly increased soon.

Location
This photo was taken at a small pond at Jacobsburg Park in Wind Gap, PA. The pond was host to dozens of frogs. This quartet was the main attraction.Time
I spent more than two hours watching, from mid morning to noon, as the frogs fought over who would be next to join the "train."Lighting
As far as lighting, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. This photo was taken using only natural light.Equipment
This was shot with my Nikon D3400 using my (newly purchased) 200-500mm Nikkor lens. The use of a tripod was necessary to support this rather heavy lens!Inspiration
I was actually watching and waiting to possibly shoot a frog leaping. When that mission failed, I turned my attention to their fascinating mating ritual. I learned that frogs can get a bit viscous, biting and kicking each other to get the job done.Editing
No post-processing was necessary. The conditions and subjects were ideal. In my camera bag
On my outings, I like to take my 40mm macro lens, my 70-300mm lens, and of course the 200-500mm.Feedback
Patience is key. When I go out, I plan on staying out with no distractions or appointments to rush me. Since I prefer natural light, I wait for it. I will spend hours just watching and waiting for perfect lighting conditions and willing and cooperative wild things to come together.
