Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was made near of Manzanillo's cayes, on the Guacanayabo Gulf, during a fishing journey.

Time

It was on a December morning, a little bit more than an hour after the sunrise.

Lighting

I was on a small machine boat, with the early morning sun at my back.

Equipment

I used a SONY DSC-HX60V camera. No tripod at all, and having troubles with the movement of the boat by the waves.

Inspiration

That's what you can see is an abandoned ships cemetery on the sea. For me, it's a metaphor of life and death, individually and socially; a symbol of the city and the activity of his people which made it grow, now on decadence. Also the solitude is reflected by the lonely bird standing on the mastile. It's part of a series called "Captives".

Editing

No, I didn't do it.

In my camera bag

Sometimes, I only carry my phone on my pocket. But when I know that I can get a good shot, I got any camera on my bag (preferring a semi reflex like I used that day).

Feedback

Never go out without a camera. Even with your phone you can capture an inspiring image.
