The Bisti Badlands of northwest New Mexico exhibits lots of fantastic rock shapes. Most of the formless odd-shaped ones are called "hoodoos." But one can also find lots of familiar shapes - including a bestiary of animal shapes. This one reminds me of a swallow with folded wings.
I know this area from the old days as the "Bisti Badlands" - but it is now part of BLM's Bisti-De-Na-Zin wilderness.
